Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

By creating an account on mypropertee, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before registering.

1. About mypropertee

mypropertee is a community-driven land documentation platform. It enables users to record land claims, document property boundaries, and maintain a searchable registry of property claims. mypropertee documents claims — not legal ownership. We are not a government registry and our records do not constitute legal title to land.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to make any claims you submit.

3. Identity Verification

Identity verification via Nigeria's National Identification Number (NIN) is required for your claims to appear in search results. Your verified name — as returned by the NIMC registry — becomes the authoritative record of your identity on the platform. You may not use another person's identity to register or verify a claim.

4. Data Preservation on Account Deletion

You have the right to delete your account at any time. However, the following distinction applies:

No claim or conversation history: if you have never held a claim, been a co-claimant, or participated in a conversation, all your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted upon request.

Existing claim or conversation history: if you have ever:

then the following data will be retained indefinitely even after account deletion:

This data may be required as legal evidence in property disputes, court proceedings, or government enquiries. Retaining it protects both you and other parties involved in those records.

Your email address and username are reserved — they cannot be registered by any other user. Your phone number is freed for reuse (phone numbers are recycled by carriers). Your personal access to the platform is removed immediately.

If you verified your NIN before deleting, you may restore your account and all associated records at any time by verifying the same NIN during a new registration.

By creating an account, you explicitly acknowledge and consent to this data preservation policy.

5. Claims and Disputes

Submitting a claim does not guarantee legal ownership. When two or more parties claim overlapping boundaries, the system records both and initiates a dispute process. mypropertee does not adjudicate legal ownership — disputed claims are referred to appropriate legal resolution channels.

6. Fees and Payments

Certain features (identity verification, property search) require wallet funding. All fees are non-refundable once a service has been rendered. mypropertee supports Paystack, Flutterwave, and cryptocurrency (USDT) for deposits.

7. Privacy

Your identity is never revealed to searchers without your explicit consent. Search results return only user identifiers, not names. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, store, and protect your data.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

Violations may result in immediate account suspension and referral to law enforcement.

9. Intellectual Property

The mypropertee platform, logo, and software are owned by mypropertee. Content you submit (claim data, boundary coordinates) remains yours, but you grant mypropertee a licence to store, display, and use it for the purposes of operating the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

mypropertee provides the platform on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee the legal validity of any claim registered on the platform. We are not liable for losses arising from property disputes, government actions, or the actions of other users. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the fees you have paid to mypropertee in the preceding 12 months.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of mypropertee after changes are notified constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
